The focus is to provide an in-home strength-based approach to support the individual needs of the family. Supports will include but not be limited to, assistance with getting instrumental needs met, information and support in accessing community resources – formal and informal, liaise and collaborate with school services, support with using alternate parenting strategies, support in developing personal and community support systems, resolution of personal issues and the enhancement of problem solving, communication and relationship skills.
Students within Chinooks Edge School Division are referred to the Social Emotional Team (SET) when universal and targeted approaches to Mental Health are not enough. If SET feels the family could benefit from personalized in-home services, then SET makes the direct referral to MHIS. Involvement in the program is voluntary.
Personalized in home support for families within the Chinooks Edge School Division communities. (Sylvan Lake, Delburne, Penhold, Innisfail, Spruceview, Bowden Olds, Carstairs, Cremona, Sundre)
